COVID Info

IMPORTANT BACK TO SCHOOL information
Updated 01/03/2021

We are delighted to have our plan for a full return to school from 8th March 2021. We have really missed our young people being in school and are excited to welcome them back.

We have been busy making plans for getting our children back in safely and with minimum risk to our students, staff and community. We need to test all children for COVID before they return to school. and will be testing with Lateral Flow Tests, we have been carrying out these tests since January so are confident in our testing centre and the staff running it.

We cannot insist on you consenting to a COVID test but urge you do so. If you have any questions or concerns about the return to school please do not hesitate to contact school.

A full copy of Mrs Brindley's letter can be downloaded here but below is a summary of the return details for all year groups.

Department of education announcement
update 06/01/2021

Following on from the Prime Minister's announcement of school closures, Lostock High School will be operating
Remote Live Learning for all year groups.

Teachers will either set work or conduct live lessons through Microsoft Teams,
which can be accessed through your child's Office 365 school email account.

Click here for a short video, for students, on how to use Microsoft Teams.

No laptop or computer? Own a console, FireStick, or Smart TV? Click here for how to access lessons.

To support Remote Live Learning, Lostock High School can provide each student with an exercise book to complete their learning activities in.

Exercise books will be available for collection from the entrance to the Lostock High School library from 9.30am-4.00pm.

Students who need a school place because they are children of key workers, vulnerable, or SEND can come to school.

Places can be booked via email on bookings@lostock.trafford.sch.uk .

Timetables for live learning from home will be shared by email with families.

All of these changes are last minute because of an announcement made by the government on New Years Eve that all secondary schools would have to test all staff and students before returning to school in January 2021, following alarming increases in numbers of COVID confirmed cases.

Please do check your emails and messages during the next few weeks as we will be seeking consent for testing your child and setting up test dates and times.

school covid testing from january 2021

staff and students are to be tested from january 2021 to identify asymptomatic cases of covid

We will be commencing testing for COVID as soon as we have a test centre established and staff training completed. This should be possible from the week beginning 4th January 2021. Written consent has to be given before we can do this. Click here to download a printable copy of the consent form.

The risk assessment is attached below.
