Lostock College is fortunate enough to have a dual use library. This is managed by the schools Librarian and Careers coordinator – Amanda Childs who is able assisted by local volunteers. The library is used by the school and the local community.
School students have exclusive use to the library every lunchtime, teachers and other staff use the library for one to one session, group work and whole classes throughout the school day. The library is open to the public and school students every day from 2-4pm and on Saturday mornings 10-12 during term time.
Community Groups also use the library for craft activities, there is a rhyme time session every Thursday from 2-2.45 for under 5’s and there are plans to hold computer sessions for local people in conjunction with Trafford Housing Trust and Trafford College.
Working in conjunction with other Trafford Libraries allows students to request Items - which are not in stock at Lostock Library but are available from another Trafford library free of charge.
