Nicola Doward

Professional Background

Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Mrs Doward’s passion for literature led her to study English Literature and Theology at the University of Limerick, followed by a Higher Diploma in Education at University College Dublin. Since moving to England in 1999, she has built a distinguished career in education and has been Headteacher of Stretford High School since September 2015.

Why I Became a Governor

I am delighted to serve as a Governor at Lostock High School. I believe strongly in the power of collaboration across schools and in the shared commitment to ensuring every young person has access to high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive. Supporting Lostock as a Governor allows me to contribute to that vision.

What I Hope to Contribute

As a Headteacher and a parent, I bring both professional insight and a personal understanding of what helps young people succeed. I aim to offer strategic leadership, empathy, and a relentless focus on creating nurturing environments where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their best.
Message to Parents/Carers
I am honoured to work alongside such a talented and dedicated group of Governors in supporting Lostock High School’s continued growth and success.
